Air Pollution & Effects - Roberto Tellez

Air Pollution & Effects

Introduction

Air pollution is something that we here about but never really discuss. It is an important factor in our lifes that that will not only have detrimental effects in our
generation but in generations to come. We as people might think that it is not our problem to worry about but it is. As people we have been polluting and not taking care of our environment and it has taken a toll, our summers are getting hotter and longer the tropical storms are getting more and more intense.
The other thing that that pollution does is it affect us as people, making us look, act, and be different.

Research

According to a study on early life and air pollution: Environmental exposures in air quality can have effects in the inflammatory processes and the can casue development of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, depression, and certain types of cancer. So air pollution can affect children way more and can give them long term effects that will last there life times.
Another study found that the mortality rate worldwide do to exposure in pollution was an estimated to be 8.9 million deaths in 2015, which according to the article was a 30% larger than that was predicted.

This Map shows Pollution in our communities and how much it affects us. Our community at CSULA is low in the spectrum but many other areas have high pollution:

Air Pollution is not as bad as it once was but it still affects us all.

Personal

I care about about what happens to the earth and cutting down on pollution is a big way to help. It not only helps us and future generations but the earth itself. I don’t want my kids to suffer because of the recklessness of what we have done. Even if we don’t see it is there and it does affect us all in different ways. You may not see it now but perhaps in the future something can happen. As for me I feel that my Asthma is correlated to the air pollution in the area at times it’s hard to breathe and then it effects allergies that are ongoing. It is rare here in Los Angeles were we wake up and have a clear smog free day. I wan to tbe able to the clear skys of LA and not have to worry about my health or the helth of others.

" Well yeah, its bad our planet is taking care of us and we should be taking care of it. We need to more mindful about our actions to help protect it."

Roberto Soto on Air Pollution:

"Not only air pollution but pollution in general is bad. Walking around my nieghborhood I see trash on the street, on the side walk you know we need to learn that its not good for anyone be breathing in all this trash."
