Health insurance-Melissa Cheung

Research
How much are you paying your insurance a year and does it cover what you need when you have to go see a primary care doctor or specialist doctor. It might cover most part of your primary care doctor medications, but when you need to see a specialist doctor you have to pay more then $300 a month or even have to pay out of your pocket.
Group Health Insurance Cost vs. Individual Health Insurance Cost
With this chart down below, we can see how much a person have to spend a month in order to keep their insurance and if you need to see a specialist doctor the cost of it will be sky hight.
Individual Health Insurance
Group Health Insurance
Self Only
$393/month
$536/month
Family
$1,021/month
$1,511/month

A UCLA doctor will cost about 300 ~ 500 just to do a follow up, this are the price without having a insurance so in other word we kinda have no choices but have to pay almost 300 dollars a month in order to afford medications or whatever procedures you need for seeing the doctor. US government don't have too much support for the low income family or individual, when Obama care came out it was a big hope and support for those who can't afford their need in medications. But now with Trump in white house, what is going to be.
How Much Does an Individual Health Insurance Policy Cost?
Now let’s take a look at the cost of individual health insurance. On average, the national cost in 2017 is $393/month for single coverage.

Personal
While having a experience working at a specialist doctor clinic, I know how much patient are paying for the procedures and doing follow up. It cost so much just to see the doctor without having any treatments and even you able to afford those, the medications are other story. Also if the patients need injection which depends on what kind, the price is between $500-$1000. As one of the office assistant in there, I got a lot of phone calls from different pharmacy saying this or that medications are not cover with their insurance so we have to ask to to get an alternative to replace that but then it might less effect on the needed for patient. I feel like people have no choice but have to pay so much each month just for the "emergency need" but still most of the medications are not cover by it. The health insurance situation is monopoly, there are not much of choice so the companies just keep adding up the price, "They say rate increases are necessary because people enrolling in Obamacare are sicker than they expected, and they’re losing money." said by the insurance companies, no competition the price will just keep going up. I believe in Obama care and think it can change some of this situation here.

she have the same issue that can not afford the health insurance, so every time she have to be careful not be sick...as she said. I was asking her what she think about the insurance system at the moment, she was think is bad every things are about having a insurance or not, people have no choice but have to pay a amount of money just to get a minor level of cover. Her thought was trying to get in good company so they might have some good benefit for her in future.

He thinks that health insurance should not be mandatory today. The fact that you will be fined more than the cost of having insurance is not fair to many families that cannot afford health insurance. The families that try to get around it end up getting fined which puts a giant financial hole and makes it even harder to get back on their feet to be able to afford health insurance. He also thinks that the other issues in regards to health insurance is not as a big of a deal as the requirement to have health insurance by law.
